Mobile video to grow to $16 Billion by 2014

Pyramid Research has predicted that the mobile video market will grow to be worth $16 billion by 2014, driven by the growth in 3G subscribers. Its Mobile Video Services report predicts that there will be 534 million mobile video subscriptions by 2014, which would be 8.5 percent of all mobile subscriptions (up from the 2.5 percent that it is at currently).

The U.S., Italy, and Japan are identified as three of the leading markets for mobile video and TV today. Pyramid says China and Chile are markets to watch for future growth, while mobile video is starting to grow in India, in anticipation of 3G licenses being awarded.
