Ad-funded ‘amAze’ navigation on Huawei GPS handsets

LocatioNet Systems has announced a collaboration with Huawei to include LocatioNet’s “amAze” GPS navigation service on Huawei’s new GPS-enabled mobile handsets.

According to the agreement, the amAze application will be pre-installed by Huawei on its new GPS-enabled handsets. Users of the Huawei handsets will gain immediate access to the amAze navigation service with a wide coverage of rich maps around the globe.

The unique ad-funded model supported by amAze will allow the Huawei handsets owners the access to the most economical navigation service available in the market today.

Based on the internal GPS receiver in the handset, users would be able to use amAze to get turn-by-turn voice-guided navigation in many countries around the globe. They would be able to view and navigate over detailed maps, high-resolution satellite imagery in over 200 large cities around the world, to view weather conditions, to search for points of interest, to search in local directories and more.
