UK: BBC brings travel news service to mobile phones

BBC’s new mobile travel news service offers a wide range of information on delays and disruption to all kinds of transport services.

Users can search by road, postcode or town name to find the information that matters to them. Users can sort the results by time or severity of delay, and find out if an earlier accident or traffic jam has cleared.

For the first time, BBC is offering public transport information including rail, ferries, air travel and the London Underground.

Users can type the address in their mobile phones to access the service or text the word TRAVEL to 81010 to receive a direct link (texts to the BBC cost 10-15p).
