Continental & Microsoft develop internet-capable multimedia platform

Developed in collaboration with Microsoft, Continental’s multimedia platform provides vehicle manufacturers the possibility of fitting their vehicles with an integrated infotainment system that can be continually updated and optimized to accommodate future internet applications.

Continental: “Those wanting to connect themselves to web services while inside their cars currently do so via portable devices – potentially at the risk of having or causing an accident. That is the wrong way to go about it. Internet services have to be integrated into the car intuitively, so consumers have ease-of-use features that assist drivers and others. To enable this, Continental offers vehicle manufacturers systems and concepts that will enable the next generation of vehicles to be appropriately equipped for safe use of Internet services.”
