Australia: Toyota launches TomTom – Fujitsu Ten system

Toyota has launched the TomTom Fujitsu Ten system (developed for the EU market) in Australia, branded as FollowMe.

Some of the features include:

Accurate positioning: The advanced combination of GPS information and the vehicle’s speed sensor (made possible via full integration with the vehicle), provides superior accuracy, even in tunnels.

Portability: The navigation system (TomTom) can be ejected  from the audio cradle (Fujitsu Ten) and can be used in other vehicles.

Multimedia: Bluetooth, iPod, and USB compatibility when docked – with each functioning through the vehicle’s speakers. It can also play video on its 4.3″ screen, SD-Card reader that allows users to view digital photos and even documents.

Suna Traffic Monitoring Service: Regular updates alert the user to traffic jams, road works or accidents and suggest alternative routes. Available for Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Gold Coast metro.
