Harman Becker sells portable navigation business to Falk

Falk has taken over the portable navigation business of Harman Becker to create a new company, United Navigation.

United Navigation will continue to sell devices under both Becker and Falk brands.

All other embedded infotainment businesses of Harman Becker will continue unaffected.

United Navigation will have access to the contents of MairDumont, Europe’s leading providers of travel, leisure media and travel information. These contents can be integrated into the devices in the future, on both Falk and Becker systems.

The new shareholder structure is divided as follows: Dr. Frank Mair holds 80%, Elmar Peters 5% of the shares. MairDumont is involved as a strategic partner with 15%. The company is based in Ostfildern near Stuttgart.
