The Russian Government sets rules for toll roads

The Russian government has adopted rules for toll road traffic, according to a copy of the rules published on the government’s Web site.

Under the rules, means of toll collection may include toll booths, tickets, and electronic payment systems. The rules also give the government rights to impose caps on tolls.

Toll road operators cannot discriminate against customers, the rules read.

There are currently few toll roads in Russia, and the government has recently taken steps to promote their construction.
