Within two months of launching its service, Shanghai OnStar Telematics Co. Ltd. (Shanghai OnStar) has reached 1,000 active subscribers. On February 28, Shanghai OnStar activated its 1,000th subscriber, Mr. Dai Yongping from Shenyang.
“Having OnStar available in my new Buick Enclave will make driving safer and provide me greater peace of mind in my travels,” said Mr. Dai. “I am honored to help Shanghai OnStar reach a new milestone.”
OnStar began offering a range of in-vehicle safety, security and communication services in select Shanghai GM vehicles sold in China in December, 2009. The OnStar services currently provided in China include Automatic Crash Response, Automatic Airbag Response, Emergency Services, Remote Door Unlock, Remote Horn and Lights, Roadside Assistance, Stolen Vehicle Location, Good Samaritan, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Destination Download Assistance, OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics, On-Demand Vehicle Diagnostics, Hands Free Calling, and Point Of Interest Assistance.
In addition to the Buick Enclave, OnStar is also currently available on the Cadillac SLS. OnStar will be included on select additional 2010 Cadillac, Buick and Chevrolet models from Shanghai GM throughout the year.
