Destia to launch RDS-TMC service in Poland; to be used by Garmin & Navigon

Destia Traffic has announced the launch of first RDS-TMC service in Poland. Commercial RDS-TMC service will be provided throughout Poland on RMF FM radio channel.

Officially the service will start on May 1st, 2010 even though the service is already on air. Content of the service will, in the beginning, be basic traffic information, meaning road works, accidents, incidents and some traffic jams in cooperation with Destia Traffic`s partner Coris Varsovie.

Destia Traffic will immediately start to develop the service even further. During Autumn 2010, a product called Nordic flow will be introduced to the service providing automated congestion information.

For the winter 2010-2011, also Destia Traffic`s award winning product VARO will be implemented which will warn drivers about exceptional and dangerous driving conditions during winter time. The first navigation devices which will support Destia Traffic`s commercial RDS-TMC service in Poland will be on sale during April – May 2010 by leading navigation device manufacturers Garmin and Navigon.
