The 2009 China in-dash navigation map market was dominated by AutoNavi and NavInfo.
The two companies took up 48.7% and 46.8% shares respectively, rendering a large barrier to other interested map providers, according to the latest report of Analysys International.
Both AutoNavi and NavInfo have their own stable partners, which is one of the major reasons for their large market shares. AutoNavi tends to partner with European and U.S. automakers, while NavInfo mainly cooperates with Japanese automakers.
Analysys predicts that the in-dash navigation market will have booming development in future 3-5 years, and that the convergence with LBS will better improve the profit models.
