Garmin Asus Android phone launches in New Zealand

Telecom New Zealand and Garmin-Asus recently announced the launch of the Android phone A10 in New Zealand.

The A10 is the first device in New Zealand to offer photoReal Junction View, a feature that gives a realistic photo overlay of key New Zealand motorway off ramps in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. The A10 also supports AA Real Time Traffic updates that will route drivers around road delays.

The A10 has several customized applications specifically for Telecom New Zealand customers such as guides for restaurants and upcoming events.

The restaurant guide provides restaurant reviews and photos, and customers can navigate to the restaurant with one-click.

The upcoming events application notifies users of the best events nationwide, and customers can then navigate to the venue with ease or call the location for more information about the event.

Other essential smartphone features include a powerful WebKit browser with multi-touch, five mega-pixel camera including auto-focus capability that automatically geotags images with an exact location reference and a built-in accelerometer so that screens may be viewed in portrait or landscape mode.

Telecom is New Zealand’s largest telecommunications service provider, and touches almost every New Zealander through a range of products and services.

The A10 is available in Telecom stores  and dealers, it is priced at RRP $699.
