India: Tata Aria gets Delphi DVD navi; Remote light control using key fob

The Tata Aria is one of very few vehicles which come with an in-dash Satellite Linked Navigation System and preloaded maps of most Indian cities. Apart from directions to the destination users can also search for the nearest restaurants, banks, hospitals.

Moreover, the system will also guide driver to the nearest Tata Motors dealership. The hardware package in Aria has come from Delphi and the maps for the navigation system come from NAVTEQ.

The Aria is also equipped with advanced infotainment system. It includes a 2 DIN integrated music system with 6 speakers, which plays CD and MP3. Other features include USB, Aux-in, Bluetooth and steering wheel controls.

The Aria also has a new ‘Follow Me Home & Approach Lights’ feature. Even when the car is locked, the headlights can be put on from outside with the approach light switch on the remote key and it stays on for 60 seconds. This can help users in locating the way after parking in a dark spot. It can also help locating the car in a big parking lot at night.
