US: MTA SpA selects QNX OS for digital instrument clusters

QNX Software Systems has recently announced that MTA SpA has chosen the QNX Neutrino Realtime Operating System (RTOS) as the software platform for MTA’s next-generation in-car infotainment systems.

The new systems will include digital instrument clusters and multimedia consoles for high-performance automobiles.

The first production models are scheduled for deployment in early 2011.

Founded in 1954, MTA is an international supplier of electronic and electromechanical components for Aprilia, Ducati, BMW Motorrad, Ferrari, Fiat, Fisker, GM, Lamborghini, Lotus, Maserati, PSA Peugeot Citröen, Saab, Tata, Volkswagen, and other automotive and motorcycle manufacturers.

Headquartered in Milan, MTA has two production units in Italy and branches in the USA, Brazil, Poland, Slovakia and India.

MTA recently demonstrated its latest technologies at the QNX Automotive Summit, which was in Stuttgart, Germany, on November 17.
