Mecel announced earlier this month that its software powers the infotainment system in both the Audi A1 and the Audi A6 series.
Mecel has worked closely with Audi and tier1 infotainment system supplier Delphi to develop a set of high-performance media and connectivity software features, including fast music search and playback on both CDs, SD Cards, USB memory sticks and other connected devices such as iPods/iPhones.
“Audi is a very competent customer with high expectations of its suppliers. They have tough requirements on both development timing and quality levels,” says Kent Eric Lång, Managing Director at Mecel. “Advanced technology is at the very heart of Audi. Mecel was chosen for its technical competence and commitment to delivering state-of-the-art on-board technology.”
“Thanks to our flexible development process, we have had a very good working relationship with Audi experts and, in many cases, have worked together to optimise the software design and deliver it in a timely manner at the high quality levels,” Kent Eric Lång continued.
The Audi A1 and A6 series, released Q3 2010, have advanced technologies on board and the infotainment system sets new standards in the segment. Mecel provided software for the Audi Multi Media Interface, or MMI, a system that distills the latest communication, entertainment and connectivity features in an easy-to-use interface.
