India: NAVIGON launches iPhone app with NAVTEQ maps

NAVTEQ has announced that its existing status as the preferred map provider for NAVIGON has been extended to India.

The NAVTEQ map of India will be incorporated into NAVIGON’s new MobileNavigator iPhone app for India.

MobileNavigator India, the fully-featured turn-by-turn navigation application for the iPhone is now available in the App Store.

As the map is stored on the device, once downloaded, MobileNavigator needs only a GPS satellite signal – there are no monthly fees or hidden data roaming charges.

With a one time purchase fee of USD69.99 from the Apple App Store, users can enjoy all the app’s future updates free of charge.

Through the NAVTEQ collaboration, NAVIGON provides a highly detailed digital map, enabling most accurate turn-by-turn directions and premium navigation features.

MobileNavigator comes with a host of functionalities including the ability to analyze driver’s habits to provide a customized route recommendation and up to two alternatives clearly displayed in-map with estimated time of arrival (ETA), distance and driving times for each.

Other advanced features consist of social network integration, live weather updates, available best parking options, route planning, location sharing, iPod integration and much more.
