moj.io launches car apps platform and seeks Indiegogo crowd-funding

Telematics company, moj.io, has launched an aftermarket open platform for car apps. The formal launch of its consumer and developer-based platform technology on the crowd-funding website, Indiegogo.com. moj.io also announced the appointment of Bill Weihl (a Facebook executive and former Google director) to the moj.io team of advisors.

The moj.io device installs in seconds into the onboard diagnostics (OBD) port. The DriveSmart app knows the moment you put your car in drive and automatically disables texts and phone calls on your smart phone until the car is in park. You can even disable your teenage drivers’ phone use when they’re using your car. Once the car is in park, the disabled apps automatically start working again.

The first eight apps being developed by moj.io and released to Indiegogo backers include:

Good Driver Points

The moj.io team aims to raise $100,000 in 30 days on Indiegogo.com.
