SoundHound Inc. and Hyundai has resulted in another integration of Houndify’s Voice AI platform in their cars, this time in select models of the all-new 2021 Elantra and Elantra Hybrid in North America. This is the first time that Hyundai’s Dynamic Voice Recognition system is being launched in cars for the American market, but multiple other models have already been launched globally featuring the voice recognition system.
Voice recognition in the Elantra and Elantra Hybrid provides drivers with access to cloud-based information from hundreds of knowledge domains, all hands-free, making the driving experience safer, easier, and more convenient.
Built with Houndify’s Speech-to-Meaning and Deep Meaning Understanding technologies, the Dynamic Voice Recognition system in these new models delivers the most progressive in-car experience in its class. The inclusion of a connected voice recognition system in the high-volume Elantra models is a strong indicator that voice AI adoption is growing in everyday vehicles and is no longer reserved for only high-end models. Voice-enabling the Elantra Hybrid is another step toward creating a safer and greener world.
Houndify’s natural language voice interface delivers unprecedented speed and accuracy in voice recognition and responses, and its unique context aware technology allows the voice system to remember the context of conversations, eliminating the need for users to continue to repeat themselves.
To activate the voice recognition system, Elantra drivers simply touch the “push to talk button” on the steering wheel and ask for what they want using natural voice queries. From there, drivers can access information for a wide range of cloud-based domains across a broad spectrum of topics, including weather, navigation, sports scores, market updates, restaurant recommendations, local search, and much more, making the in-car experience more connected and convenient.
