GMC introduced the 2022 HUMMER EV Edition 1 super truck, developed to forge new paths with zero emissions.

The truck will utilize GM’s new Ultium batteries and power from Ultium Drive – their family of electric motors. It boasts 1,000 horsepower with 11,500lb-ft of torque, generated by three separate motors within two Ultium drive units, that allow for an estimated range of 350 miles. The Hummer has a range of new features and technologies that complement its range and unique capabilities.

One of these is Watts to Freedom, a user-enabled performance mode that pushes the Hummer’s EV propulsion system to its maximum capabilities, allowing for 0-60mph in 3 seconds. The truck’s Drive Mode Control works in a similar way, adapting its performance based on the user’s selection. These include torque splits between the front and rear wheels, a four-wheel steering setting, and a Terrain Mode that raises the Hummer’s ride height by two inches.

The Hummer EV’s interior sees several interesting technology features, namely its 13.4-inch infotainment screen and 12.3-inch driver information center display. The truck’s infotainment system will be the first commercial vehicle to utilize Epic Games’ Unreal Engine HMI, which allows for fast loading times and powerful graphics. Built on Android, the system features many integrations with Google’s automotive app catalog, such as Google Voice Assistant and Google Navigation.
