TomTom recently launched its navigation app on Android Auto, Google’s smartphone mirroring app. This enables drivers with an Android device to project and interact with TomTom GO Navigation on an Android Auto-compatible infotainment screen.

The app combines the convenience of a smartphone app with the functionality of a TomTom satnav and includes several features which enhance the navigation experience. Moving lane guidance helps drivers navigate intersections by indicating which lane is best and what exit to take. Users can download detailed 3D maps within TomTom GO Navigation and can use it abroad (where roaming costs may be high).

TomTom’s traffic information and speed camera warnings are similarly available for download. Additionally, the app is advertisement-free and does not monetize users’ personal data in any way. EV drivers can benefit from built-in EV profiles, which allows them to find nearby charging points.
