WiTricity announced that it has joined the Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN) as a core member. WiTricity is a provider of wireless charging technologies for EVs, and has been committed to the development of common standards and interoperability of wireless EV charging.
CharIN is a global association with over 200 members dedicated to promoting e-mobility charging interoperability based on the CCS as the global standard for charging vehicles of all kinds. Cross-industry stakeholders including OEMs, charging station manufacturers, component suppliers, energy providers and grid operators are members of CharIN.
WiTricity’s wireless charging technology has been adopted by automakers and will become available in passenger EVs in the coming months. The wireless charging systems enabled by WiTricity will be equipped with its “park & charge” feature.
