Kia has unveiled its 2023 Sportage with an upgraded infotainment system. The OEM’s new subcompact SUV a delivers diverse lineup, with LX, EX, SX, SX-Prestige and X-Line trims, alongside its new Sportage X-Pro and X-Pro Prestige trims.

In addition to these models, Kia has confirmed that the Sportage will be available as a hybrid, while gasoline variants are anticipated to go on sale in the U.S. in Q1 2022.

The 2023 Sportage’s interior sees an available dual panoramic curved display seamlessly connect a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The new SUV also deliveries a variety of user-centric infotainment features that take advantage of new technologies to enhance convenience and safety.

Across all trims, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come as standard alongside a new touchpad with climate and audio controls underneath the central display and multi-Bluetooth capability for two devices simultaneously. The new Sportage also allows for multiple user profiles to be created, each with individual settings for climate and infotainment. These profiles also remember any phone connection pairings made by the user when logged in.

Kia has also announced a range of available features for the 2023 Sportage, including a 360-degree Surround-View Monitor with 3D view, a Harman Kardon premium audio system and a built wireless charging pad. Further available features can as part of the OEM’s Kia Connect services that provide advanced embedded connectivity – including an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot capable of connecting up to five devices to 4G LTE-based internet and over-the-air map updates for eligible vehicles. Also included are Kia’s stolen vehicle tracking and immobilization features as well as a cloud-based Connected Routing system. This calculates the optimal route to the user’s destination using real-time maps and predicted traffic info based on historical information and AI to learn the preferred routes of users.

Through Kia Connect, customers can also access the refreshed Kia Access App. Available for iOS and Android smartphones and smartwatches, it provides newly added compatibility for features like remote climate control and door lock/unlock. Customers can similarly link Kia Connect to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant enabled devices, allowing them to control some vehicle functionality.
