XPeng has revealed its new G9 flagship SUV at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in China. The new G9 is the OEM’s first model that will release in both domestic and international markets.

The new G9 will debut a new range of technologies, systems and platforms developed by XPeng. Among these are Xpeng’s X-EEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture and XPILOT 4.0 ADAS as well as its XPower 3.0 powertrain and supercharging system.

The G9 is built on XPENG’s new proprietary X-EEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture, an industry-leading platform deeply integrating hardware, software and communications architecture to achieve greater simplicity, powerful performance, and high upgradable flexibility.

The X-EEA 3.0 architecture combines a centralized supercomputing platform with local control modules. At the software level, the new G9’s software suite has been structured in layers – system software platform, foundation software platform and intelligent application platform. These layers allow for the faster development and iteration of new technologies and functions such as ADAS and voice recognition systems.

The XPower 3.0 powertrain system takes advantage of a 800V silicon carbide (SiC) platform. This allows the new G9 to replenish up to 124 miles (200 km) of range in five minutes, with an energy efficiency of more than 95%. To optimize the utility of the 800V SiC platform, XPENG is also rolling out lightweight 480 kW supercharging piles, with 670A+ flow rate capacity, IP67 protection, and safety monitoring.

The G9 will be also implement a Gigabit Ethernet communications architecture capable of supporting multiple communication protocols. This will allow vehicles to transmit and receive big data faster and provide additional support for a variety of features and systems – including ADAS, smart cockpit, and firmware OTA upgrades.

With its international release in mind, XPeng has ensured that the new G9 is compliant with the C-NCAP and E-NCAP 5-star safety design standards, and the EU’s WVTA vehicle certification standards. The G9 also meets EU 3R certification, with a reusability rate of over 85% and a recyclable rate of over 95%.
