Vodafone Germany has announced a new V2X platform as part of the  2021  connect conference. Through its V2X Message Broker, operated on a ‘Multi Access Edge Computing platform’, all road users and infrastructure components can exchange information in near real time. With their new V2X platform, Vodafone aims to enhance road safety and facilitate autonomous driving.

The V2X platform is based on Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT), an open network protocol for machine-to-machine communication. It enables the transmission of telemetry data between different devices and uses the publish, subscribe mechanism suited for use in V2X communication.

To use the platform, drivers only need to register for it, while iOS and Android app developers can take advantage of ADI specifications and related software development kits.
