Kyndryl and NetApp have announced an agreement with the BMW Group that will combines its digital infrastructure services with NetApp’s cloud-led, data-centric, software technology.
The IT infrastructure provider will serve as the lead integrator to manage the enterprise storage infrastructure that forms an integral part of BMW’s production process. NetApp provides the hybrid cloud data infrastructure foundation for the OEM’s data center needs – delivering network-attached (NAS) and scale-out storage infrastructure. The deal will cover operations on 17 countries on five continents – with Germany, the US, and China serving as focal markets in the partnership.
The platform for BMW Group’s future data fabric is based on NetApp solutions and services, a combination that aims to provide continuous data availability, uninterrupted service delivery, and easy data mobility. This allows the BMW Group to use data where necessary to gain new insights in the data center, or in the cloud.
