General Motors has launched an expanded version of its My GM Rewards loyalty program for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac customers.
The program is open to current or previous owners of a vehicle from GM’s brand portfolio and offers three membership tiers – Silver, Gold and Platinum. As customers can level up their membership as they spend, with each tier unlocking higher points earnings and redemption caps. Gold and Platinum members, for example, can redeem their points toward the purchase of GM Certified Pre Owned vehicles and their points do not expire.
Similarly, the program allows its all members to earn and redeem points toward buying or leasing a new vehicle from GM. Points can also be redeemed toward parts, accessories, paid service, gift cards, and select plans from GM’s OnStar and Connected Services.
As part of the announcement, GM revealed the My GM Rewards card – a credit card made in collaboration with Marcus by Goldman Sachs and Mastercard. The card is integrated into the loyalty program and allows users to earn points through its use and redeem them. In addition to redeeming their points on the program’s catalog of rewards, card holders can also redeem points towards the purchase of a GM Certified pre-owned vehicle
With the credit card, users can benefit from unlimited 7X points for every $1 spent at GM and unlimited 4x points for every $1 spent elsewhere – points earned do not expire with an open account in good standing. Users can also benefit from a $100 card statement credit when spending $1,500 on fuel, or paying six months of electric bills for a registered EV per calendar year. With the credit card, up to $50 per year is applied toward a vehicle detailing charge from a participating dealer while cardholders receive a Gold Tier membership to My GM Rewards upon card approval.
