The Volkswagen Group has announced that it will launch an all-electric pick-up and SUV in the United States. The decision was made by the Board of Management and confirmed by the Supervisory Board of the Volkswagen Group.

Both vehicles will be designed, engineered, and manufactured in the U.S. for the OEM’s customers in the region. To this end, a separate, independent, company will be established in the U.S. this year as the Volkswagen Group moves the U.S.-brand Scout into the EV space. Within it, vehicles under the brand will be built on a new technical platform concept.

The first prototypes of these vehicles are to be unveiled next year, with production scheduled to commence in 2026.
