ŠKODA Connect has launched a Pay to Park service for its customers in several European countries. With it, ŠKODA owners will be able to use the MyŠKODA smartphone app, or the in-vehicle infotainment system, to display parking options and pay parking fees.
Following a pilot phase in Switzerland, the service will initially be made available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany and Norway. Škoda then plans to expand service’s reach to a further eight countries – France, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden – before rolling it out to other European markets in 2023.
The feature is accessible through the MyŠKODA app, available for iOS and Android devices, or the OEM’s Amundsen and Columbus infotainment systems. Within Škoda’s vehicle line-up, the app is available on the Fabia, Kamiq, Scala, Octavia, Karoq, Superb, and Kodiaq models.
To use Pay to Park, users must have an active ŠKODA Connect account and have remote vehicle access enabled. Once the payment data is collected in the MyŠKODA app, and the service is activated, it can also be accessed instantly on the infotainment system, while ŠKODA drivers can see which parking spaces they can pay for online. Upon arriving at the car park, the driver can select the parking time and extend it using the app if necessary. Payment is made online after the parking session has ended.
