Following the European launch of their collaborative insurance offering in June 2022, Wejo and Ford have announced plans to launch it in the U.S.

Through the partnership, both parties aim to help insurance providers better understand driving behaviors through connected vehicle data and insights. These insights will then support user-based intelligence for end-to-end insurance.

Upon launch, the end-to-end insurance offering will leverage connected vehicle data to establish usage-based vehicle insurance policies that reward U.S. customers according to their driving behaviors. Through the use of this data, Wejo and Ford are looking to help the vehicle insurance industry across several verticals.

The parties have said that it can help validate customer supplied details; identify and minimize insurance fraud; offer dynamic pricing models; ensure safer journeys; and reduce stress on policymakers and customers. Ultimately the agreement focuses on using defined data sets created for end-to-end insurance in the U.S.
