Kia has announced that the owners of its latest models will now be able to benefit from over-the-air functionality, allowing them to receive the latest infotainment features and software fixes more quickly and more easily.
Available for all Kia models released from MY22 onwards, and subsequent models that support Kia Connect across Europe, the OTA capability will provide remote access to wireless navigation and infotainment updates. It likewise ensures that customers will no longer need to visit the dealership to install updates, or do so manually through Kia’s update portal.
While this technology will help enhance the navigation system and head-unit, and tackle potential software bugs, Kia confirmed that the first of these updates would offer more specific improvements. Among its highlights are a new Eco Design theme for its EVs that was previously exclusive to the EV6, new Sounds of Nature tracks, and updated climate and seat-climate controls.
