Toyota has revealed that the Corolla Cross Hybrid will be arriving at its dealerships in June with a starting price point of $27,970 (€25,471). The OEM confirmed that the new crossover will be assembled in the U.S. at the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing plant in Huntsville, Alabama.
The 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid will be available in three new grades: S, SE and XSE – all of which offer AWD capabilities. The S and SE grades both offer a 8-inch touchscreen and smart key access as standard, while SE adds ADAS such as a Blind-Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). All grades provide the Toyota Audio Multimedia System as standard, which itself offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB-C charging ports, and OTA update capability.
Users can interact with the system through a series of touch and voice activation controls. With the available Drive Connect premium feature package, users can benefit further from access to Intelligent Assistant, Cloud Navigation and Destination Assist (Active Drive Connect trial or subscription required).
The on-board Intelligent Assistant, activated by the ‘Hey Toyota’ voice command, can recognize similar voice commands that help the user search for driving directions, find Points of Interest (POI), adjust audio controls, change the cabin temperature and more. Offered optionally, Toyota’s Cloud Navigation systems utilizes the cloud to download the latest available map, traffic and routing information. To ensure the most up-to-date search capabilities, POI search is provided by Google POI data. The Destination Assist function gives drivers access to 24/7 live agent assistance to help them locate a chosen destination.
In addition to its smartphone mirroring integrations, Toyota’s Audio Multimedia also allows for dual Bluetooth phone connectivity and, for the Corolla Cross, has an available Wi-Fi Connect subscription that offers 4G AT&T connectivity for up to five devices. The plan also incorporates a new Integrated Streaming feature that allows customers to link their subscriptions to Apple Music and Amazon Music with the vehicle for efficient onboard control.
