Volkswagen’s UK arm has revealed the all-new third generation Tiguan, which for 2024 offers a new interior and a new plug-in hybrid model with around 100 kilometers (62 miles) of all-electric driving range.

Many of the vehicle’s new technological developments have been enabled by Volkswagen’s MQB evo platform. Among these are its new hybrid drives as well as faster AC charging times in all eHybrid versions, and fast DC charging as standard. MQB evo also enables the new Tiguan’s diverse range of powertrain options, including turbo diesel engines (TDI), turbo gasoline engines (TSI), mild hybrid turbo gasoline engines (eTSI) and plug-in hybrid systems (eHybrid), which will be offered exclusively in conjunction with the automatic transmission (DSG) in the future.

Inside, a new Digital Cockpit based on the OEM’s fourth-generation modular infotainment matrix, MIB4, forms the foundation of the new Tiguan’s infotainment system. At the center of the system is a new digital instrument display, a central infotainment screen measuring up to 15 inches with a new menu structure and enhanced graphics, and a new HUD.

Also featured is a new multifunction driving experience switch with an integrated OLED display, offering a new rotary control with its own mini screen that can be used to control the driving profile, radio volume, or the background lighting colors. In contrast, numerous vehicle and infotainment functions can be adjusted by issuing natural language commands to the new IDA voice assistant.

While the OEM confirmed that the 2024 Tiguan will reach its dealerships in the first quarter of 2024, pricing for the model has not yet been revealed.
