As a part of its broader strategy to provide electrification for all, Toyota has revealed the 2025 Camry, which for the new model year will exclusively sold as a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV). The model is expected to arrive at Toyota Dealerships in spring 2024.

Powering the new Camry is a combination of Toyota’s 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine, and the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5). This setup facilitates a net combined 225 hp on Front Wheel Drive (FWD) models and 232 hp on the AWD versions. On the Camry Hybrid, Toyota’s Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive system will be available on all grades. The system’s capability comes from a dedicated rear electric drive motor generator that automatically supplies power to the rear wheels when needed.

Inside the new HEV, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster comes as standard on the LE and SE models, while a standard 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster is found in the XLE and XSE grades. The XLE and XSE grades also come with an available 10-inch Head Up Display to allow drivers to check their speed, see warning indicators, and turn-by-turn navigation.

The Toyota Audio Multimedia System includes a standard 8-inch touchscreen display, or an available 12.3-inch screen. The system also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as standard, as well as a Qi wireless charging pad. Also standard are a series of of USB-A and USB-C ports located throughout the cabin, with three in the front and two in the rear.

Access to enhanced connectivity features is also available through the system, which allows simultaneous dual Bluetooth phone connectivity. A Wi-Fi Connect trial/subscription offers 4G connectivity for up to five devices (30 day/3GB trial included).

With an active available Drive Connect trial or subscription, Camry drivers can also interact with the system through touch and voice activation. The subscription also grants access to the Toyota Intelligent Assistant available, which is activated using the ‘Hey Toyota’ voice commands. Upon activation, it can respond to further voice-activated commands to search for directions, find Points of Interest (POI), adjust audio controls, change the cabin temperatures and more. Over-the-Air (OTA) updates will also be available.

A Digital Key is available on XLE and XSE grades. With an active Remote Connect trial or subscription, drivers can access the Digital Key using the Toyota smartphone app (available for iOS and Android devices) and allow passive entry unlock on front doors and trunk or push start in-cabin using their smartphone.

Adding to the already robust offering of audio playback ability with HD Radio, USB data and a SiriusXM Platinum Plan 3-month trial subscription, Integrated Streaming allows users to link their separate Apple Music and Amazon Music subscriptions to the vehicle for onboard control. In addition to these premium audio services, the new Camry also offers a nine-speaker JBL Premium Audio system upgrade.

An up to 10-year Safety Connect trial equips the Camry with an Emergency Assistance Button (SOS), 24/7 Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification and Stolen Vehicle Locator. Likewise, the up to 10-year Service Connect trial provides allows drivers to receive Vehicle Health Reports, Maintenance Alerts and reminders.

In terms of safety, the Toyota Camry comes standard with Blind Spot Monitor, which helps detect and warn the driver of vehicles approaching or positioned in adjacent lanes, with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert that similarly detects vehicles approaching from either side while reversing, and alerting with a visual and audible warning. The Toyota Camry is equipped with the OEM’s Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS suite as standard.
