Lucid Group has unveiled Gravity, its new luxury electric SUV, at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show. At launch, following the beginning of production in late 2024, the seven-seater will provide an estimated driving range in excess of 440 miles (708 km) and a starting price under $80,000 (€73,615 / £64,359).

The Gravity’s interior provides second and third-row seats that fold flat to reveal more than 112 cubic feet of total usable cargo space. The sliding second row seats can also be combined with integrated convenience tables to deliver an elevated back-seat experience, while extra legroom is carried through to the third row. The infotainment system is headed by Lucid’s Clearview Cockpit UI, which features a 34-inch curved OLED display that appears to float above the e-SUV’s new steering wheel. Lucid’s Pilot Panel also features, offering a quick access touch bar, and sits alongside a new glass center console that offers additional storage. The SUV’s key software functions will receive continuous improvements over time through OTA update capabilities featured in Lucid’s next-generation software.

At the foundation of Gravity’s performance is a brand-new platform integrated with Lucid’s proprietary powertrain technology, which includes power-dense EV motors and an evolution of its 900V electrical architecture. This combination allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 3.5 seconds, while offering a payload capacity of over 1,500 pounds (680 kg) and an additional 6,000 pounds (2721 kg) of towing capacity. The architecture also houses Gravity’s battery pack that offers ultra-fast charge rates and the ability to replenish up to 200 miles (321 km) of range in around 15 minutes.

Through Gravity, Lucid is also debuting a new series of wellbeing features – including Lucid Sanctuary and Lucid Spaces. Lucid Sanctuary offers a set of experiences designed to introduce tranquility when the SUV is on the road or parked at a charging station. Lucid Spaces leverages the UI to provide an atmospheric, wellness-focused, experience through visuals of locations such as Lake Tahoe or Joshua Tree. A new partnership with Meditopia works similarly, offering a guided meditation experience inside the vehicle.
