The UK arm of KGM Motors (formerly known as Ssangyong) has announced its revised model line-up as part of its recent corporate rebrand aimed at supporting a refreshed global brand identity. This strategic overhaul includes a consolidation of model specifications across KGM’s current and future offerings as it works to elevate quality, while delivering premium craftsmanship and innovation.

Through this overhaul, vehicles within the KGM line-up will undergo various adjustments to meet updated specifications with the OEM reforming models to two variants per vehicle and adopting a unified alpha-numeric nomenclature for the K20, K30, K40, and K50 variants. At the same time, the company’s Musso pick-up will retain its established EX, Rebel, Saracen, and Saracen variant names.

In committing to its brand transformation, KGM Motors UK also revealed a unified design approach and a future product line-up. These future products will retain the original characteristics of the Ssangyong brand of a ‘tough vehicle designed for adventure’ through the contrast between aesthetic elements to complement the natural world. The product line-up will also pay tribute to the heritage of the original Korando and Musso vehicles, both of which are regarded as symbols of strength in Korean automobile history.

The latest designs from KGM will also incorporate eco-friendly powertrains in response to the increasing need for sustainable mobility solutions. In adopting these powertrains, KGM is aiming to become a forward-thinking vehicle manufacturer while demonstrating its commitment to meeting the needs of both its customers and the environment.

Currently, KGM UK is expected to launch the Torres ICE and Torres EVX SUV models during Q1 2024. During this launch, the OEM will continue developing a range of concept modules – including a BEV pick-up truck (0100), a BEV mid-sized SUV (KR10), and a BEV large SUV (F100) – in collaboration with BYD using BEV-dedicated platforms. KGM expects that it will commence mass production of the O100 and KR10 models in H2 2024, with plans to share further details at a later date.
