Audi has deepened its collaboration with SAIC and SAIC Volkswagen as part of a newly signed cooperation agreement.

Together, the OEMs will jointly develop new models built on a China-specific platform named ‘Advanced Digitized Platform’ for the new premium intelligent connected vehicles. Their co-operation will begin with three BEV models covering the B and C segments, aiming to quickly enter the Chinese EV market. This collaboration model will enable Audi to reduce time-to-market by more than 30%, with the first model expected to launch in 2025.

The products spawned from the partnership will ultimately be presented with Audi’s design language, driving experience, and the latest EV technology, built on the new Advanced Digitized Platform. Through its cooperation with SAIC, Audi is looking to further expand its BEV portfolio in China and accelerate its growth within the region.

To support the partnership, a dedicated joint project team has been set up with Fermín Soneira (Audi) as the CEO. As former Head of Product Line for Electric Models from the A to C Segment at Audi AG, his experience with these segments will support the partnership as it delivers new EVs for the B and C segments.
