Nio, an OEM specializing in smart EVs, has announced plans to expand its European rollout by entering seven additional markets in 2025 and 2026. Through this expanded rollout, the automaker is aiming to offer local users across the region innovative, sustainable and premium mobility experiences.
In pursuing a well-considered multi-channel strategy, Nio is looking to increase its reach across Europe while building on its established direct-to-consumer business and service network in key regions. In Belgium and Luxembourg, for example, Nio will cooperate with the Hedin Mobility Group. AutoWallis, a car trading and mobility service provider in the CEE region, will be the OEM’s partner for Austria and Hungary (for 2025) as well as for the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania (where Nio aims to have launched by the end of 2026).
Together, these new collaborations help Nio fulfil its next strategic step in its European expansion. In the coming weeks, the automaker is, likewise, looking to increase the number of retail locations by offering its vehicles in additional European markets. The new partnerships further build on Nio’s long-term vision of creating a sustainable mobility ecosystem in Europe and highlight the growing momentum behind the company’s expansion strategy. In the coming weeks, Nio will announce further news for selected European markets, each designed to bring value to local users while more broadly strengthening the company’s regional presence.
Initially, Nio’s offering in these new markets will consist of various vehicles from its two brands: Nio and firefly. Focused on offering premium smart EVs, the former will be offering the EL6, a smart electric all-round SUV; the EL8, a safe, spacious and sustainable luxury six-seat SUV; the ET5, a mid-size smart electric sedan, and the ET5 Touring, a smart electric tourer designed for lifestyle versatility. Firefly, the OEM’s brand for new and compact EVs, will also offer a small, intelligent, electric vehicle designed for urban users in its new European markets. Nio confirmed that these vehicles are all built on its proprietary software and hardware platforms, and feature intelligent driving capabilities, the NOMI AI assistant, and enhanced connectivity features.
