Volkswagen has revealed the all-new Tourer version of its ID.7 EV, which offers consumers zero-emission driving with a maximum range of 425 miles (685 km) and a suite of advanced cockpit technologies. The OEM will produce the new EV at its electric mobility plant in Emden, Germany before commencing Europe-wide presales in Q1 2024.
At launch, customers will be able to choose from two different battery sizes for the ID.7 Tourer. Depending on the battery energy content, the electric touring car is expected to achieve ranges of up to 425 miles (685 km). The largest battery option offers a maximum charging capacity of up to 200 kW at DC quick-charging stations, allowing it to be recharged from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 30 minutes.
Inside, the new ID.7 Tourer will offer a range of advanced technologies as standard, including a AR head-up display. This HUD projects relevant information for the user’s journey into their field of vision, allowing them to stay focused on the road. Accompanying it is a new Wellness In-Car app, which allows various vehicle functions to be adjusted through three preconfigured programs (Fresh Up, Calm Down and Power Break) which can help to enhance wellbeing during journeys or while on a break. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the app can access and change the background lighting, sound, air conditioning, smart glass function, seat air conditioning and seat massage, as well as the ID.LIGHT and infotainment screen.
