Stellantis will expand its Free2move Charge brand through a new website, and a dedicated app, while offering new incentives for the brand’s charging products to drive EV adoption as Stellantis prepares to launch its first EVs in the U.S later this year.

Through the new Free2move Charge website and app, Stellantis is aiming to support consumers throughout the EV purchase process – educating and helping them understand battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) and the charging options available to them as new BEV owners. Available in the U.S. and Canada, the new app can be downloaded through the Apple App Store and Google’s Play Store.

When purchasing a Stellantis BEV, customers will be able to choose the Free2move Charge Home Package, which offers a complimentary Level 2 charging unit (valued at approximately $600 / €550 / £461) for charging their EV at home. When using this unit, the Free2move Charge app informs owners of the best times to charge, avoiding peak rates and more. For customers looking to utilize public EV charging stations, the Go Package includes $600 (€550 / £461) of charging credits that can be used at these stations (on DC and Level 2 chargers) across the U.S. Here, the new app identifies the closest EV charging locations to the user, as well as their charging history and remaining credits.

The credits offered through the Go Package are accessed through the app, allowing users to more easily to find, activate and pay for charging. Today, Stellantis’ EV customers can access various charging networks across the U.S. through the corporation’s partnerships with providers such as ChargePoint, Shell Recharge and EVgo. In the near future, customers will have even greater access to charging through Stellantis’ joint venture with Ionna. Ionna itself plans to deploy a minimum of 30,000 in-network chargers in the U.S. in 2024, followed by Canada at a later date.

Stellantis BEV and PHEV vehicles are currently equipped with the J1772 charging port. Although, the corporation recently announced its adoption of the upcoming SAE J3400 charging connector, starting with select BEV models launching in North America for the 2026 model year.
