GAC Group has released three new models at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2024 that each cater to the electric, extended-range, and plug-in hybrid segments: the S7, Aion UT, and Hyptec HL.
The S7, a large five-seater SUV positioned by GAC as its first ‘advanced intelligence’ vehicle, offers third-gen PHEV system with 4WD and over 1000 km (621 miles) of mixed range. It also features AI-driven ambient lighting with eight preset expressions for personalized mood-setting, hidden door handles and rooftop LiDAR sensors that together aim to deliver a sleek, futuristic, driving experience.
The Aion UT, one of GAC’s “global strategic models”, is positioned as a top-tier BEV. The UT is a hatchback with an extra-long 2,750mm wheelbase, attractive oval-shaped headlights and minimalist C-shaped taillights, as well as a charging port on the front fender. Inside, the EV features rounded corner details, a large floating central display and fully digital instrument panel.
Through the Hyptec HL, a large six-seater, GAC is aiming to redefine standards for luxury SUVs. Among the HL’s luxury features are lighting displays, advanced video and audio fittings, a suede rooftop and premium grade leather. On the second row, it features twin 18-point massage chairs for its second-row passengers fitted with touchscreen displays, fast charging ports, and extra-large armrests. Under the hood, the HL offers dual-power pure electric and extended range (EV+REV) capabilities, 800V 5C super charging and non-sensing starting technology. The car’s pure electric range exceeds 350 km (270 miles), with a mixed range exceeding 1200km (745 miles).
Together, through these new models, the GAC Group is looking to highlight its goal to lead the smart EV market – a key part of its ongoing global expansion strategy.
