Zeekr has announced plans to launch its third vehicle in Europe following the Zeekr 001 shooting brake and the Zeekr X compact urban SUV – the Zeekr 7X, a premium electric five-seater SUV designed for families. The EV is available to order now in the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway, with Zeekr expecting to make the first customer deliveries in summer 2025.
Developed with the capabilities of a software defined vehicle in mind, the Zeekr 7X pairs Qualcomm’s 8295 Snapdragon chip, and its own third-generation HMI design, to deploy a digital cockpit offering a more intuitive, immersive, and seamless user experience. The e-SUV’s 16-inch HD touchscreen is supported by an optional 36.2-inch AR HUD, which places key information directly in the driver’s line of sight.
In the cockpit, the OEM’s AI-driven ZeekrGPT voice technology allows drivers to change control climate settings, or enter a destination in the navigation, while staying attentive to the road ahead. Zeekr Places, an integrated app, helps drivers find information quickly on several topics, from charging stations to promotions at favorite restaurants, using location-based technology that offers real-time, contextual information on the vehicle’s surrounding environment. To further enhance the ownership experience, over-the-air (OTA) software updates will ensure that features continue to improve over time, and new functionality can be added.
Both the Premium and Long Range variants of the 7X share a single, 415 hp (310 kW) motor in the rear axle that offers 324 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque. For the Premium version, it enables an estimated range of 298 miles (480 km) while the Long Range version offers an estimated range of up to 382 miles (615 km). The two light, compact, electric motors integrated into both the front and rear axles of the flagship Performance model together generate a total output of 630 hp (470kW) and 523 lb-ft (710 Nm) of torque. Together with the traction and control benefits of all-wheel drive, the powertrain can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100km/h) in 3.8 seconds.
The Performance model also offers an off-road mode that takes advantage of its all-wheel drive capability to optimize powertrain and traction control systems to suit a range of surfaces. When combined with the EV’s optional active air suspension with continuous damper control (which increases ground clearance by up to 45mm), its performance can be aligned more closely with challenging driving conditions.
Located beneath the vehicle floor is the Zeekr 7X’s 800V battery pack. Premium models adopt Zeekr’s Golden battery, a 75-kWh pack with LFP cells, while the Long Range and Performance models are equipped with 100 kWh packs that utilize NMC cells with greater energy density. For all models, a 22 kW on-board AC charger is offered as standard, enabling customers to charge at home with a 22 kW wallbox.
With this setup, the Premium model can be charged from 10 to 100% in 4.0 hours, while the Long Range and Performance models take 5.1 hours to replenish the same amount of charge. The 7X’s 800V electrical architecture allows it to be charged at up to 480 kW on DC, a capability Zeekr designed to future-proof the EV as charging infrastructure develops. Today, on a 360 kW charger, a 10 to 80% recharge takes the Premium model 13 minutes, and 16 minutes for the Long Range and Performance versions.
