Volkswagen has revealed the ID. EVERY1, an all-new concept car through which the OEM is previewing an entry-level EV. The final production version of the concept car is expected to launch in 2027, when it will be offered at an estimated starting price of around €20,000 (£16,761 / $21,585).
This production-ready version will accompany the ID. 2all, which itself is expected to launch in 2026 at a starting price of €25,000 (£20,948 / $26,981). Together, these models will play a key role in the development of Volkswagen’s new Electric Urban Car Family with front-wheel drive, which is currently being developed on a cross-brand basis under the umbrella of the Volkswagen Group’s Brand Group Core initiative that comprises the group’s volume brands. The models rolled out under this family will be built on Volkswagen’s modular electric drive platform: the MEB with front-wheel drive.
Leading the innovations set to be provided with the production-ready ID. EVERY1 is a new, powerful software architecture. In adopting this architecture, Volkswagen says that the car will be capable of onboarding new functions throughout its lifecycle, with the OEM looking to provide customers with a greater sense of personalization through a user experience that can be individually adapted to the customer’s needs.
In terms of performance, the ID. EVERY1 shares a similar setup to its fellow models in the Electric Urban Car Family, the ID .2all and the sport-focused ID. GTI Concept. Here, it utilizes the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform to enhance space utilization and efficiency, while reaching a top speed of 80 mph (130 km/h) using a 93-hp (70-kW) electric drive motor. The MEB platform similarly supports the concept car’s electric range, which Volkswagen says will be at least 155 miles (250 kilometers) on a single charge.
The production version of the ID. EVERY1 concept will form a key part of Volkswagen’s broader electric vehicle campaign facilitated through the ‘Future Volkswagen’ agreement. This agreement between Volkswagen AG and its employees took place at the end of December 2024, with both sides aiming to fulfil a vision that combines economic stability, employment and technological leadership within the field of sustainable mobility.
At the core of this agreement are three key targets that will, together, form the foundation for key future projects. Here, the strategy will initially see the Volkswagen brand strengthen its competitiveness and expand its existing model range, most notably by further previewing the Electric Urban Car Family range in fall 2025.
Following this preview, the brand will then look to launch nine new models by 2027, including the production versions of the ID. 2all and ID. Every1, before aiming to become a technologically-leading, high-volume manufacturer of safe, innovative, and best-selling cars by 2030.
