Geely Auto has announced its entry into Australia and the New Zealand through the launch of its EX5 EV in the region. For the Chinese OEM, the expansion marks the finalization of its business layout across five key contents, which it says is supported by a channel of networks and inclusive products.
The automaker highlighted that the launch will further solidify its global presence, with plans to focus on deepening the distribution channel while building systematic, competitive, advantages. Here, the CEO of Geely Auto Group underlined that by the end of the year, Geely is aiming to enter the UK, Brazil, South America, and further markets.
Ahead of this deadline, the group is more broadly looking to add more than 300 new sales and service outlets to achieve 1100+ channels in the international market. At the same time, over the next three years, it is aiming to increase the number of products offered internationally. Here, its goal is to launch 8 NEV models built on its newly-launched Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA) platform covering different market segments, while further consolidating its competitive advantages.
The EX5 is Geely’s first global model built on the all-new GEA architecture, and incorporates a range of the automaker’s core new energy vehicle (NEV) technologies, including the Geely Short Blade Battery, CTB Structure and 11-in-1 Intelligent Electric Drive.
