Hertz and Uber have announced plans to expand their North America EV rental partnership to Europe.
Through it, the car rental company will make up to 25,000 EVs available to Uber’s drivers in various European capital cities by 2025. Among the EVs sent to those cities will be new vehicles from Tesla and Polestar. The expansion will commence at Hertz Europe’s London base in January 2023, with the intent to reach other cities – such as Paris and Amsterdam – over the course of the year and beyond.
The announcement marks the latest step in Hertz’s strategy to develop one of the largest fleets of rental EVs globally, as well as Uber’s own zero-emissions commitments for 2030 in Europe and North America.
