Volvo Trucks has supplied three heavy electric Volvo FH trucks to Mattson Åkeri, a delivery company based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Ahead of the OEM’s trucking division providing the trucks, one of the models underwent testing in container traffic in the port area of ??Arendal in Gothenburg.
The truck itself is a Volvo FH Electric 6X4, which has two trailers, is 32 meters long and can handle a gross combination weight of 74 tonnes (81.5 US tons). It will be charged with green electricity at two fast 180 kW chargers that Mattsson Åkeri installed at its Arendal depot. In the long term, the truck will also run between Gothenburg and Borås – a city around 43 miles (70 km) from Gothenburg.
