Hongqi has launched its latest new energy vehicles, the EH7 all-electric sedan and the EHS7 all-electric SUV, at Automechanika Frankfurt 2024. Together, the new vehicles represent flagship models in the FAW Car brand’s new energy sector and aim to provide new enhancements in driving dynamics and comfort.
Within driving dynamics, both models are equipped with advanced electric drivetrains that deliver up to 455 kW (610 hp), and up to 756 Nm (557 lb-ft) of powerful torque. While offering a rapid acceleration rate, the vehicles also offer extended range performance, with a maximum range of 655 km (406 miles) for the EH7 and 600 km (372 miles) for the EHS7. Their support of fast charging allows the EV battery to be replenished from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes, with Hongqi looking to address consumer demand for long-distance travel.
In terms of comfort, the EH7 and EHS7 are equipped with dynamic chassis control that features a variable damping suspension, designed to reduce discomfort caused by bumps and vibrations. The vehicles are likewise equipped with L2 ADAS, an AR-HUD (Augmented Reality Head-Up Display), and a custom, proprietary, audio system from Hongqi.
The EH7 and EHS7 models are built on Hongqi’s TianGong Electric Platform, which incorporates the brand’s latest advancements across many key technological fields. Set to make its full debut at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show, alongside the models themselves, the platform aims to showcase Hongqi’s NEV development capabilities in the European market.
While highlighting its latest innovations for the European market, Hongqi is also expanding its partnerships with European dealers and promoting the localization of after-sales services. Currently, Hongqi’s overseas network encompasses 128 stores spread over 28 countries. The brand said that spare parts availability rate has reached 95%, with this increase aiming to minimize customer wait times.
