Genesis Motor UK, the British arm of Hyundai’s luxury vehicle brand, has mapped out plans to become a fully electrified brand within 2025. For the brand, this shift represents a key step in its journey to deliver an electrified presence in the region.

This year, Genesis will offer three all-electric models in the United Kingdom: the Electrified G80, the Electrified GV70, and the GV60. The Electrified G80 represents the brand’s updated D-segment saloon, which it will offer from Q2 with an enhanced range and an extended wheelbase. The Electrified GV70, a C-segment SUV, will similarly receive a range boost as well as a mid-cycle facelift as part of a new model that will launch in mid-2025. The GV60, itself, is the first Genesis car built on a dedicated EV platform, offering an enhanced exterior with new bumpers, headlights, and wheels as part of a new redesign.

Together, these models have been updated with increased range, upgraded battery performance, and enhanced equipment that sit on top of their existing specifications and more broadly represent the foundation of Genesis’ long-term plan. Here, the brand is aiming to introduce new, all-electric, models while entering new segments and launching the performance-focused GV60 Magma, a model that the brand says will demonstrate its electrified future with a dynamic twist. The future Genesis range will be enhanced with hybrid technology.

From today, any petrol and diesel-powered G70 saloon, G70 Shooting Brake, GV70 and GV80 models in the UK will continue to be sold from stock. Once all of these models have been sold, Genesis will then focus on delivering electrified-only products.

While detailing its electrification plans for the UK, Genesis also announced its entry into the world of endurance racing with a new prototype car, the GMR-001 Hypercar. Developed for the LMDh programme, and part of the brand’s broader vision for the future of mobility, Genesis’ motorsport programme will represent a valuable platform for the brand to develop and showcase new technologies that will benefit its future road cars.
