StoreDot, a supplier of fast-charging battery technologies, has announced the opening of its first research facility in the US.

Located in Irvine, a city in Orange County, California, the new lab facility will help accelerate the development of semi-solid battery technologies while supporting battery material research. StoreDot chose Irvine based on the area’s opportunities for talent and recruitment, as well as its own goal to strengthen its relationship with US-based EV manufacturers.

The supplier’s US team is headed by Dr David Lee, its global Chief Science Officer, with ambitious plans to rapidly expand the company’s US-based R&D expertise. Dr Lee and his team in the region will work alongside StoreDot’s Israel-based R&D headquarters, enabling it to scale globally and remain on track with its 100inX technology roadmap.
