Škoda has refreshed its MyŠkoda smartphone app (available on iOS and Android devices), which it says will serve as a unified platform for owners of all current compatible Škoda models. The upgraded app now offers vehicle access and introduces a variety of new and improved features including smart services such as Pay to Park, Pay to Fuel and Track & Explore, as well as a loyalty program for users. Škoda confirmed that these services will initially rolled out in selected markets, and that Powerpass will be integrated into its app to streamline the charging process for its EVs.

With the updated app, customers benefit from several new features integrated under one application. Customers of Škoda’s all-electric, plug-in hybrid and ICE models will receive access to new features, while the updated app more broadly features a brand-new home screen, revised graphics and an informative widget, for the ease of use. Through it, Škoda owners will also be able to checking the charging status of their from home (for EVs only) or activate the Climate Control function before entering the vehicle.

All current and upcoming models support the newest update, including those with combustion engines and plug-in hybrid powertrains manufactured after July 2020. Users who previously used the MyŠkoda Essentials app can make transition to the new MyŠkoda app, keeping their existing Škoda account. Owners of Škoda models produced before July 2020 will continue to use the MyŠkoda Essentials app until a later date.

The updated MyŠkoda app integrates numerous digital services from Škoda Connect and covers additional parts along the customer journey. Users anticipating delivery of their Škoda car will appreciate the Track & Explore function, which offers real-time information on the vehicle’s production status. Additionally, they can review their vehicle’s configuration at any time. For those eager to explore their new vehicle’s functionalities, the app provides access to how-to videos in the UK, Ireland, France and Spain.

The improved MyŠkoda app also integrates numerous digital services from Škoda Connect and now covers additional parts of the customer journey. Users anticipating the delivery of their Škoda car can use the Track & Explore function to gain real-time updates on the vehicle’s production status. The function allows also them to review their vehicle’s configuration at any time, while also providing dedicated how-to videos in the UK, Ireland, France and Spain.

At the same time, it includes smart services for customers who already received their car. With Pay to Park, the app simplifies the process of recognizing of parking zones and paying for parking in various cities across Europe. Pay to Fuel enables automatic payments at select fueling stations, greatly reducing the time taken to pay for fuel.

For drivers of the Enyaq and PHEV models, the refreshed MyŠkoda app provides additional features. Here, the integrated Powerpass charging provides access to more than 660,000 charging points across Europe, enabled by partnerships between Škoda and more than 870 providers in the region. Powerpass also simplifies the management of home charging solutions, such as the Škoda iV Chargers.

The app will also allow users to manage charging plans, utilize the Plug & Charge function for easy charging payments, and view their charging history. Current Powerpass users can download or update the MyŠkoda app, navigate to the Powerpass section and confirm their Škoda ID connection for a fully automatic data transfer.

The app’s new design works to enhance the user experience by resembling a simplified home screen. At the same time, essential information – such as the charging or vehicle status – can be displayed through dedicated widgets on the user’s home screen. The new MyŠkoda app also adds convenience for guest users and passengers – allowing, for example, the user’s partner to remotely control the charging and air conditioning of the Škoda Enyaq.

Beyond its integrations with the vehicle, the new MyŠkoda app also offers a news feed featuring visuals and articles from the OEM. Moreover, a new loyalty programme introduced through the app for the OEM’s customers in the UK, Ireland, France, and Spain will allow them to earn points by completing various challenges. These points can then be redeemed for Škoda merchandise.
