Valeo has established its new Valeo Power division, merging its thermal and powertrain activities into a single entity this year to better address the expectations of the electrification market. The supplier has said that powertrain and thermal management systems, together, help increase the range, performance, and comfort of EVs.

The Valeo Power division will implement a lean organization structure based on seven Regional Operations and will progressively replace the former Valeo Thermal Systems and Powertrain Systems business groups until the completion of all social and legal procedures. The company confirmed that Xavier Dupont will be the Chief Executive Officer of the Valeo Power division, and more broadly assume the position of Valeo Group Executive Vice President.

In addition to the changes to its thermal and powertrain business groups, Valeo is also updating the names of its two other divisions to reflect the evolution of its activities. Here, the Valeo Comfort and Driving Assistance business group will become the Valeo Brain division, and the Valeo Visibility business group becomes the Valeo Light division.

Marc Vrecko is appointed CEO of the Valeo Brain division and Valeo Group Executive Vice President, while Maurizio Martinelli is appointed CEO of the Valeo Light division and Valeo Group Executive Vice President. The company’s new operational structure is now organized around these three divisions, which will become the financial reporting segments of the Group starting at the 2024 half-year results.

Valeo aftermarket activity remains Valeo Service activity, with Eric Schuler appointed Chief Executive Officer.
